Martin County Cancer Patient Services Meeting
September 2, 2025
The Martin County Cancer Patient Services met at Loogootee Library in Loogootee, Indiana at 5:30 PM.
Rheadawn Street opened with a prayer and welcomed the guests.
In attendance were Rheadawn Street, Robin Hart, Karen Jones, Linda Knight, Debra Guy, and Charles Guy.
The Secretary report was presented by Shannon Wagoner via email. It was reviewed by all board members. Karen Jones made the motion to accept and Linda Knight seconded the motion. The motion carried 4-0. Linda Knight presented the treasure report. Rheadawn Street made the motion to approve and Robin Hart seconded the motion. It was approved 4-0..
Grant Update and Donations:
The MCCF Grant of $5,000 has been depleted: Rex will close out the grant. The Smithville grant of $5,000 has been submitted for transportation fees.
Patient Update and Community Outreach:
Total Patients - 43
New Patients - 3
Death - Our sympathies go out to the family of Tammy Cooper-Hovis..

Volunteers:
Volunteers have signed up to work the booth at Hindostan Days.
Fundraising:
E-Bike raffle will continue until Hindostan Days on October 4th. Winner will be drawn at the end of the event.
Upcoming Events:
Hindostan Days, October 4 - There will be yard signs, t-shirts, bracelets, keychains, and e-Bike raffle tickets offered at the booth. MCCPS flyers will be available to the public.

Old Business:
A review of the Mathias Chicken dinner was given. Next year, we will provide 250 dinners and offer more baked goods for purchase..
New Business:
Karen Jones made a motion to gift patients currently receiving treatments with Thanksgiving and Christmas bags. Linda Knight seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0.
Hindostan ladies group will be decorating trees for the patients. Trees and decorations will be delivered to them.
Karen Jones made a motion to adjourn and Linda Knight seconded it. All in favor voted 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:19 PM. The next meeting will be held at St Mary’s Hall in Shoals, Indiana on October 7, 2025 at 5:30 PM.
