Martin County Cancer Patient Services Meeting
March 3, 2026
The Martin County Cancer Patient Services met at Loogootee Library in Loogootee, Indiana at 5:30 PM. Rheadawn Street opened with a prayer and welcomed the guests. In attendance were Rheadawn Street, Robin Hart, Shannon Wagoner, Linda Knight, Rex Knight, Karen Jones, Kevin Guy, and Debra Guy..
The Secretary report was presented by Shannon Wagoner via email. It was reviewed by all board members. Karen Jones made the motion to accept Robin Hart and seconded the motion. The report will be posted on the website. The motion carried 5-0.
Linda Knight presented the treasure report. Robin Hart made the motion to approve and Shannon Wagoner seconded the motion. It was approved 5-0.
2026 Election: The floor was open for motions, comments or questions regarding officer positions. There were no new candidates and no opposition to the current officers maintaining their positions. Shannon Wagoner made the motion that all officers remain in their current positions. Robin Hart seconded the motions. All in agreement 5-0.
2026 Officers: President - Rheadawn Street, Vice President - Karen Jones, Treasurer - Linda Knight, Secretary - Shannon Wagoner, and Member at large - Robin Hart.
Grant Update and Donations:
Rex Knight noted the $2,000 grant from Martin County Community Foundation for nutrition and medical supplies was awarded to MCCPS. There will be a photo taken on March 18 at 3:30 PM at the Martin County Community Foundation. He will apply for the REMC grant in May; which will be the next quarter of the grant cycle. Mr. Knight will check on the Smithville Grant: TBA.
Patient Update and Community Outreach:

Deaths: George Payne and Dan Haley
Birthday Blessings:Rick Arvin and Bob Doane have upcoming birthdays.
Youth Ambassador:No new updates.
Volunteers: Kevin Guy asked when the photos of donations needed to be sent to Shannon Wagoner for the Online Auction. All photos need to be submitted by the week of April 6.
Fundraising:Online Auction Update: The board members are receiving donations.

2026 Estimated Budget: A copy was distributed to all in attendance. Federal and State Filings: Karen Jones will complete the 990 Form; due by May 15, 2026. State filing NP-20R due May 15, 2030.
Online Auction Vendors: Karen Jones suggested that each board member retain their vendor list for the following years. All were in agreement. Rheadawn Street will update the list and keep on file.
Website Memorial: Discussion was held regarding monetary donation amounts being posted. Shannon Wagoner made a motion to no longer post the amounts on the website. Robin Hart seconded the motion. 5-0 vote.
Shannon Wagoner made a motion to adjourn and Karen Jones seconded it. All in favor voted 5-0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:16 PM. The next meeting will be held at St. Mary’s Hall in Shoals, Indiana on April 7, 2026 at 5:30 PM.
