Martin County Cancer Patient Services
Meeting July 7, 2026
The Martin County Cancer Patient Services met at Loogootee Library in Loogootee, Indiana at 5:37 PM. Rheadawn Street opened with a prayer and welcomed the guests.
In attendance were Rheadawn Street, Linda Knight, Robin Hart, Shannon Wagoner, Taryn Steman, Kevin Guy, and Debra Guy.
The Secretary report was presented by Shannon Wagoner. Robin Hart made the motion to accept and Rheadawn Street seconded the motion. The report will be posted on the website. The motion carried 4-0. Linda Knight presented the treasure report. Shannon Wagoner made the motion to approve and Robin Hart seconded the motion. It was approved 4-0.
Grant Update and Donations:
Rex Knight - REMC Grant of $2,000 was awarded to MCCPS. The money is allocated for patient transportation fees. Thank you REMC for your generosity! Smithville Grant online application is open August 3 - September 4, 2026. Qualifications have changed and Rex will review the changes prior to applying.

Birthday Blessings: Lisa Stoll and Joyce Jones have upcoming birthdays.
Youth Ambassador: No new updates.

Mathias Chicken Dinner - August 22, 2026
Hindostan Days Event - Raffle needed. Shannon Wagoner will be making calls regarding a two night stay discounted at French Lick Resort.
Old Business:
Raffle - French Lick Resort (Joe) responded they would not be donating at this time. Catfish Update - $392.00 was earned at the festivalMathias Chicken Dinner - $100 was donated by Diana Ragsdale for the peanut oil. Thank you Diana! Robin Hart suggested we ask for donated baked goods to sell at the chicken dinner. Taryn Steman will be baking items to donate. Signs will go up August 1 for advertising.
New Business:
Rheadawn Street suggested that we place an additional $10,000 in a CD for investment. Robin Hart made a motion to move forward. Shannon Wagoner seconded the motion. All in favor 4-0. Rheadawn will check banks and interest rates for the best investment. She will bring all information to the next meeting.
Robin Hart made a motion to adjourn and Shannon Wagoner seconded it. All in favor voted 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:29 PM. The next meeting will be held at St. Mary’s Hall in Shoals, Indiana on August 4, 2026 at 5:30 PM.
