Martin County Cancer Patient Services Meeting
July 1, 2025
The Martin County Cancer Patient Services met at Loogootee Library in Loogootee, Indiana at 5:30 PM.
Rheadawn Street opened with a prayer and welcomed the guests.
In attendance were Rheadawn Street, Shannon Wagoner, Robin Hart, Karen Jones, Linda Knight, Rex Knight, Debra Guy, Charles Guy, Kenley Shaw, .
The Secretary report was presented by Shannon Wagoner via email. It was reviewed by all board members. Robin Hart made the motion to accept and Linda Knight seconded the motion. The motion carried 5-0. Linda Knight presented the treasure report. Shannon Wagoner made the motion to approve and Robin Hart seconded the motion. It was approved 5-0..
Grant Update and Donations:
The $5,000 grant from the Martin County Community Foundation is almost depleted. From August 1-September 20, the Smithville Telephone Grant is open. MCCPS is within the criteria 501-C3, Budget Report required, and W-9 completed.
Patient Update and Community Outreach:
Total Patients - 41
New Patients - 1
Death - 0.
Birthday Blessings:
Don Bowling and Rachel Collins have upcoming birthdays. The committee decided to send cards to the patients in remission. The patients in active treatment will receive a card and $20 gas card.

Volunteers:
Volunteers are needed to work the Catfish Festival. The sign up sheet was passed around to members. A text will be sent to all members.
Fundraising:
Quilt Raffle will be extended until August 9
The eBike raffle will be held until October 4. The drawing will be held at Hindostan Days. Tickets will be $10 each or 6 for $50. Karen Jones suggested giving a gray t-shirt to individuals who buy 6 tickets for $50.
Robin Hart and Karen Jones will be notifying churches, radio stations, and the local newspaper about the upcoming Mathias Chicken Dinner.

Old Business
A discussion regarding the success of the Loogootee Summer Fest was reviewed. The placement of the booth wasn’t located in a high traffic area. A decision will be made next year regarding set up of the booth during Loogootee Summer Fest.
New Business:
Karen Jones has applied for our Tax ID number. Each vendor we use will receive a copy of the online form. Board members will fill out online, print, and give to vendors. It will need to be renewed in May of 2030.
Karen Jones made a motion to adjourn and Linda Knight seconded it. The meeting was adjourned at 6:38 PM. The next meeting will be held at St Mary’s Hall in Shoals, Indiana on August 5, 2025 at 5:30 PM.
