Martin County Cancer Patient Services Meeting
January 6, 2026
The Martin County Cancer Patient Services met at Loogootee Library in Loogootee, Indiana at 5:30 PM. Rheadawn Street opened with a prayer and welcomed the guests.
In attendance were Rheadawn Street, Robin Hart, Linda Knight, Kevin Guy, and Debra Guy..
The Secretary report was presented by Shannon Wagoner via email. It was reviewed by all board members. Robin Hart made the motion to accept and Linda Knight seconded the motion. The report will be posted on the website. The motion carried 3-0. Linda Knight presented the treasure report. Rheadawn Street made the motion to approve and Kevin Guy seconded the motion. It was approved 3-0. The new 2026 mileage rate of 20.5 cents per mile was presented by Linda Knight via Karen Jones. Copies were given to those present..
Grant Update and Donations: Rex Knight is currently writing on two grants.
Patient Update and Community Outreach:
Active Patients: 31
Inactive Patients: 16
New patients: Mandy Luker and George Payne
Deaths: Don Bowling
BirthdayBlessings: Charlie Tedrow and Theresa Harder have upcoming birthdays.
Youth Ambassador: No new updates from Taryn Steman.
Volunteers: A clarification was made regarding the Christmas trees being donated by the estate of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hamiltion. Karen Jones had been storing them for MCCPS, but did not donate them.
Fundraising: Online Auction Update: Rheadawn Street has received donations from Wilstem and Taylor Winery.
Upcoming Events: Online Auction in April
Old Business: Christmas Baskets assembly and delivery went well, Decision was made not to decorate and deliver trees in 2026
New Business: Discussion was held regarding the Loogootee - Barr Reeve Cancer Awareness January 16th Basketball game. Two of our patients potentially may be honored that evening.
Linda Knight made a motion to adjourn and Rheadawn seconded it. All in favor voted 3-0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 PM. The next meeting will be held at St. Mary’s Hall in Shoals, Indiana on February 3, 2026 at 5:30 PM.
