Martin County Cancer Patient Services Meeting
December 2, 2025
The Martin County Cancer Patient Services met at St Mary’s Hall in Shoals, Indiana at 5:30 PM.
Rheadawn Street opened with a prayer and welcomed the guests.
In attendance were Rheadawn Street, Robin Hart, Karen Jones, Linda Knight, Rex Knight, Shannon Wagoner, Kevin Guy, Debra Guy, and Paul Wade.
The Secretary report was presented by Shannon Wagoner via email. It was reviewed by all board members. Karen Jones made the motion to accept and Linda Knight seconded the motion. The report will be posted on the website. The motion carried 5-0.
Linda Knight presented the treasure report. Shannon Wagoner made the motion to approve and Robin Hart seconded the motion. It was approved 5-0.
Grant Update and Donations: Martin County Community Foundation Grant will open in January. REMC Grant opens in February. Rex Knight will check on Duke Energy grant cycle; there is not a lot of information available regarding it at this time.

Birthday Blessings: Joe Hart, Kay Hellums, and Steve Deckard have upcoming birthdays.
Youth Ambassador: No new updates
Volunteers: A patient had inquired about where she could receive assistance for children’s gifts this season. Suggestions were made to contact the St. Vincent de Paul and Loogootee Methodist Church. Karen Jones donated trees and decor, Robin Hart and Shannon Wagoner donated lights and decor. Trees will be decorated and gifted to patients. The Dover Hill Christian Church Youth will be decorating the trees along with Reva Troutman.
Fundraising: Online Auction will be held from April 16-23, items will be sorted on April 24, The pick up will be held on Loogootee Methodist Church on April 25 from 10AM-12PM, Board members will begin calling vendors regarding online auction donations in January.
Upcoming Events: Loogootee Christmas Stroll and vendor set up December 7 from 2-6PM Christmas Basket Assembly - December 17 at 10:30AM at St Mary’s Hall in Shoals, IN. Delivery will follow basket assembly. The board members will be collecting and purchasing items for the bags.
Old Business: Karen Jones donated trees and decor, Robin Hart and Shannon Wagoner donated lights and decor. Trees will be decorated and gifted to patients. The Dover Hill Christian Church Youth will be decorating the trees along with Reva Troutman. Thanksgiving Baskets assembly and delivery was a success. There were several volunteers who helped assemble and deliver to patients.
New Business: Linda Knight shared an idea for a 2026 Christmas fundraiser; tour homes that are decorated for Christmas. A discussion was held regarding the idea. Several stated the community no longer had an interest in offering their homes for the tour. The idea was tabled following the discussion.
Shannon Wagoner made a motion to adjourn and Robin Hart seconded it. All in favor voted 5-0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:06 PM. The next meeting will be held at Loogootee Library in Loogootee, Indiana on January 6, 2026 at 5:30 PM.
